It’s the first Sunday of advent today, yey.
To me that means Christmas is finally here and I love being surrounded by the holiday spirit leading up to Christmas. It’s one of my favourite times of the year! The first Sunday of advent is always reserved for the great tradition of decorating my grandparents house for Christmas, whilst we’re listening to my favourite Christmas LP in the background. It’s epic.

As you’ve probably understood, I absolutely love all kinds of Christmas decorations and ornaments. Especially personalised ornaments that tells me a little something about the owner, or the friendship if it’s a gift. Decorating your own Christmas ornaments is a fun and calm escape from the Christmas rush, and it’s something I love making for others. Do you want to upcycle some old and worn Christmas ornaments? I just upcycled some of mine, and they’ll be the perfect little pre-Christmas-because-I-really-appreciate-you-gift. Here’s how to make them:

Autumn has been kind this year. It’s been dry and mild, which let me tell you is not normal in Bergen! Though it’s been mild, autumn is still taking its toll on my lips and this morning when I woke up I felt the temperature change in the air. That was the sign to do something about it, so I made a batch of this beautiful and chemical free lip scrub for myself and some of the beautiful people I’m lucky to be surrounded by in my life. Making this honey and rose lip scrub is very quick and easy, and it will hydrate, refresh, sooth and cleanse your lips. Here’s how to make it:

<< Would it be ok if I dig into your paper napkins? >> I hear myself asking my grandma on the phone. I’m in the mountains at my grandparents cabin, or in other words; one of the most blissful places I know. My grandparents built the cabin as their big dream, and I’m lucky enough to use often. Whenever I’m there I find calm in my soul, and the beautiful nature surrounding it always inspires me to craft! That was the beginning of these simple decoupage bowls, and here’s the tutorial on how to make them:

Princess Diana of Themyscira (or Diana Prince when she’s away from home), the woman we all know as Wonder Woman is the warrior princess of the amazons. With her superhuman strength, great combat skills and weapons like the lasso of truth she’s fighting for justice, love, peace, and gender equality. This is a big part of why Wonder Woman owns a small place in the heart of most comic-book fans and geeks. If you think about Wonder Woman, you’ll probably think of a stunning looking, smart and pretty badass woman. At least I do. For the person in the street Wonder Woman has become a symbol of strength, and I’m pretty sure we’re all surrounded by real wonder women in our lives. I’m lucky to be surrounded by many wonder women, and one of them is my auntie Sylvelin. So when she asked me if I could make her a pair of comic-book heels, Wonder Woman had to be it! I asked her if she had any shoes she wanted to upcycle, and after a look at her shoes she found a great pair of ankle boots and a pair of heels for me to give a comic-book make-over. Here’s how I did it, and how you can do it too:

As the times change, so does our decorative taste at home. Back in the early 90’s my mum had a super cool and modern living room with terracotta walls, blue dining room furniture, earth coloured sofa and a pattern so busy it could only ever belong to the 90’s on the chairs. Like I said, it was pretty cool. This is when one of my uncles gave us this nice rooster. At the time it looked epic, but now, 20 + years later it looks a bit dated to say the least. Dated or not, the sentimental value is there, making it the perfect DIY upcycling project. And if you just like the look of it without already owning it. Simply take a trip to your local thrift shop to buy one for next to nothing. Here’s how to upcycle your dated decor and thrift shop finds:

Drawing on your fabric around your pattern isn’t always the easiest task, but don’t you worry. With this simple technique it’ll never stress you out again. It might seem like an obvious thing, but it sure wasn’t to me. I’m in the incredible lucky situation that my granddad (former tailor and designer) is teaching me pattern construction at the moment, and when we started, this was one of the first things I learned. Now it’s your turn.
